Sunday will remain unusually cool after the morning rain shower

Vaseline 1 month ago

ROANOKE, Va. – Sunday morning we will follow an area of low pressure moving up the Appalachians. This will bring a chance of rain in areas near and south of the Roanoke Valley until around noon.

Most of the rain will remain near and south of the Roanoke Valley from Sunday morning until noon.

In addition, a northeasterly breeze ensures that the temperature remains unusually cool. Sunday afternoon highs will remain in the low 50s for most of the area.

High temperatures will be more average from Sunday afternoon in mid-March.

Cooler air continues to move in, bringing a risk of frost Monday morning. That chance seems greatest in the New River Valley and Highlands.

Local frost is possible on Monday morning (and Tuesday morning too).

We will also have that cold Tuesday morning.

Afternoon temperatures will rise into the 60s and 70s ahead of another weak system. There is a chance of a few showers from Wednesday morning until early afternoon.

A front Wednesday will bring a chance of isolated showers.

The rest of the week it will remain chilly in the morning and mild in the afternoon.

Looking at the last days of April and the first few days of May, it looks like an area of high pressure will produce a southwesterly breeze. This likely means warmer than average weather for that period.

The CPC temperature outlook for April 28 – May 4 shows an increasing chance of warmer than average weather.

The temperature fluctuation continues!
