Kansas State football TE Ben Sinnott is a projected NFL Draft pick

MANHATTAN – Add Kansas State football tight end Ben Sinnott to the long list of Wildcat walk-on success stories.

His rise through the ranks was so rapid that it took him just three seasons after a redshirt year to become a top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

After a breakout year in 2022 in which he caught 31 passes for 447 yards and four touchdowns, he established himself as a top-five tight end prospect in the draft last season with 49 receptions for team-highs of 676 yards and six touchdowns. For the second year in a row, Big 12 coaches selected him as a first-team all-conference fullback.

K-State’s offense requires its tight ends to also take on fullbacks, and at 6-foot-4 and 250 pounds, Sinnott added value by tackling those as well. But it was as a receiver that he made his mark, not only with his nose for the ball, but also as a punishing runner after the catch.

Even though he was eligible to return as a senior and then as a super-senior in 2025, Sinnott decided to cash in on last year’s success by opting out of the Wildcats’ Pop-Tarts Bowl game with North Carolina State to to prepare full time. for the design. It appears to be paying off, as most mock draft boards project him to go as early as Friday’s second or third round and not slip below the fourth.

He showed off his athleticism at the NFL Draft Combine this spring. If he has one weakness in the eyes of scouts, it’s his blocking ability.

Here’s where some of the latest mock drafts land Sinnott in the NFL.
