A suspected drunk driver plowed through a children’s birthday party at a Michigan boat club, killing two young siblings and 13 others, US newspaper The New York Post said in a report. The video of the incident also went viral on social media.

Authorities said a 66-year-old woman crashed 25 feet through the Swan Creek Boat Club, where the birthday party attended by many children and parents was taking place at the time of the crash.

“The scene was described by first responders as extremely chaotic, with a high level of emotion among those directly involved and those who witnessed this horrific incident,” said Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodnough. The New York Post.

The video that went viral on social media showed the woman’s blue SUV driving through the club’s parking lot and crashing into the back wall of the building. The car narrowly missed a lamp post. The video shared shows a plume of debris exploding from the corner of the frame, obscuring the extent of the damage caused by the woman.

According to police, an eight-year-old girl and her five-year-old brother died at the scene. Helicopters took three children and six adults to area hospitals. Authorities said some of them suffered life-threatening injuries.

Emergency workers provided first aid to several attendees at the scene and some were taken to hospitals in private vehicles. According to police, the woman was arrested on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, causing death.

Police did not identify her but said she was cooperating with authorities and would likely face more charges as the investigation continues.

The venue where the party took place, the Swan Boat Club, announced it would be closed for the rest of the weekend due to the disaster.

“A terrible accident took place at Swan today with many injuries and a lot of damage to the pavilion. Please keep all people and families in your prayers,” the boat club said in a Facebook post.
