Romesh Ranganathan has been a fixture in British comedy since the early ’00s and often jokes about his family life with his wife and children.

Despite her husband’s celebrity status, wife Leesa Ranganathan stays out of the spotlight and chooses to cheer him on from the sidelines.

Whether he’s starring in a new TV series or competing in the London Marathon, Romesh has always thanked his wife for supporting his career.

The 46-year-old presenter will also embark on a sold-out tour over the next two months, starting in Brighton and winding through Britain and Ireland.

His tour, Hustle, visits cities including Birmingham, Belfast, Edinburgh, Cardiff and London, before arriving in Manchester in early June.

The show will no doubt be chock full of jokes about his life with Leesa, but luckily she isn’t fazed by it, as he once confessed: ‘She really sees it all as comedy, and therefore pointless.’

Who is Romesh Ranganathan’s wife?

Leesa met Romesh when the pair worked together at Hazelwick School in Crawley in 2009, before his stand-up career took off.

She was a member of the drama department while her future husband was a math teacher.

Little is known about her other than what Romesh has shared about the couple, which includes details about their sex life – or lack thereof.

“It was a pretty frank discussion about what Leesa and I were experiencing passively,” he revealed in his column for The Guardian in 2020.

He continued, “I have a vivid memory of seeing her face in the audience, completely calm, and then glancing at our friends, who looked completely shocked at the prospect of having dinner with a couple they now knew that it certainly wasn’t. have sex when they get home.”

Romesh then described their intimate activities as “like making risotto,” something you “always enjoy” but usually don’t feel like doing.

How many children do Romesh and Leesa have?

Despite Romesh’s candid confessions about their less-than-steamy home life, the couple has three children together; Theo, Alex and Charlie.

The doting dad even has the names of two of his sons tattooed on his arm – although not his youngest, as he revealed in 2019.

He and Leesa had originally agreed to both get tattoos after the birth of their first son, but “she bottled it up,” he wrote.

“I got another one when my second son was born, but I have yet to get a tattoo for our youngest,” he said at the time.

“The clock is ticking because he’s learning to read now, and he’s going to be mad when he finds out that I not only have his brothers’ names, but also the Autobot logo of Richard Pryor, Nas, the Roots, and the Transformers before I give him get to him.’

Is Romesh Ranganathan vegan?

Romesh was a vegetarian growing up, but decided to become vegan in 2013 and has been an advocate of a plant-based lifestyle ever since.

In 2019, he posted a video titled “The Real Reason People Hate Vegans,” which attracted a lot of attention, as he simply said they “save the planet.”

“People hate vegans,” the comedian shared. “And the reason they hate vegans is because they think we’re humorless, and they think we think we’re better than non-vegans, and all those things are true.

“When it comes to my ethical decisions, I’m so much better than you. I’m better for the planet, I’m better than the animals, there’s nothing worse about me other than the fact that I’m a bit annoying when I come over for dinner.”

He added: ‘It’s a kind of guilt feeling when you see a vegan. That vegan is a reflective surface that shows you your own shortcomings and you can’t deal with that.’

The star also shares recipes with his fans and has praised his mother’s vegan Sri Lanken curries in the past, although it is not clear whether this one is also plant-based.

What is Romesh Ranganathan’s net worth – and did he ever own a pub?

Thanks to his gig as host of The Weakest Link, appearances on panel shows and of course touring his comedy, Romesh has an estimated net worth of £2.4 million.

Some of this wealth came from inheriting a pub from his father, which formed the basis of his sitcom The Reluctant Landlord.

The Prince of Wales pub in East Grinstead was run by Romesh’s father for at least a decade before he passed away.

It has since been demolished, which the comedian previously complained about Metro.co.uk, he said, “We tried to keep it going for a while but gave up after a few months.

‘It was an absolute disaster and then I just contacted the brewery and said we can’t do this anymore. The pub no longer exists.

‘They kept telling us it was a viable pub venue but then we abandoned it and they demolished it, which gives you an idea of how honest they were about that! We weren’t very good at it.

“What I think is sad is that pubs are dying all over the country, and that pub has gone that way, so that’s a shame.”
